Is Rockstar planning a GTA IV remaster?

After the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, it seems that Rockstar still has the idea of a remaster in mind for the fourth installment in the series.

A far from recent rumor

In fact, this rumor is not new. In November 202,1 user @RalphsValve had already indicated that there was a GTA IV remaster planned for 2023. In the last few days, the rumor is back in the news due to an interview between XFire and Matheusvictorbr, who, in addition to talking about the content of GTA VI, mentions the famous remaster of GTA IV planned by the studio.

After the remaster of the first GTA, this rumor is more than plausible. GTA IV is an episode very appreciated by the fans and reached a score of 98 on Metacritic. Also, the wait will still be quite long before the new installment in the series arrives, and this new remaster would thus be ideal for filling the gap wait, in addition to allowing players to discover or rediscover the game. However, as with any rumor, it must be taken with a pinch of salt since the remaster that compiles the first three games has not convinced everyone. 

The expansions would accompany the remaster

Just like the first compilation, the remaster of GTA IV, if it is ever released, could be accompanied by the two GTA IV expansions, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. This information comes from the Twitter user who started the initial rumor, who says he got his sources from an insider in the industry.

As previously stated, this information is currently unofficial, and we'll have to wait for Rockstar to say whether or not this remaster will be released in 2023.
