Lost Soul Aside, the long-awaited action-adventure game from Ultizero Games, has officially been delayed to August 29, 2025. Originally set for release on May 30, the game will now launch three months later on both PS5 and PC. The announcement came from Ultizero Games CEO Yang Bing, who explained that the additional time is needed to polish the game and ensure it meets the studio’s internal quality standards.

Development on Lost Soul Aside began back in late 2014, and the game gained early attention after its reveal in 2016. It later became part of Sony’s China Hero Project, a program aimed at supporting Chinese game developers. Influenced by titles such as Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden, the game focuses on high-speed action combat that emphasizes smooth combo chaining and dynamic movement.
Interestingly, the delay has been well-received by fans, based on reactions to the announcement on Twitter. While many encouraged Ultizero Games to take their time to achieve their desired level of quality, others felt relieved, as the original release date clashed with other major titles like Elden Ring: Nightreign and Mario Kart World, which could have significantly impacted the game’s sales performance.
Following the phenomenal success of Black Myth: Wukong in 2024, expectations for AAA games from Chinese developers have risen sharply. With nearly a decade of development, Lost Soul Aside is riding a wave of hype—though whether it will live up to the expectations remains to be seen.
