Rebel Wolves, the studio formed by former CD Projekt Red developers, has unveiled an extended gameplay showcase for their upcoming dark fantasy RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker. The 20-minute video, now live on YouTube, offers the most in-depth look yet at the game's combat mechanics, dual-form gameplay, and its grim, vampire-infested world.

The game follows Coen, a cursed warrior with the ability to shift between human and vampire forms depending on the time of day. During daylight, he fights using swords and sorcery, navigating a dangerous world through more traditional RPG mechanics. Once night falls, however, he transforms into a Dawnwalker, gaining supernatural abilities like teleportation, stealth movement, and enhanced agility. This day-night cycle introduces a unique rhythm to exploration and combat, encouraging players to adapt their tactics to the time of day.

Beyond combat, The Blood of Dawnwalker emphasizes player choice and freedom. Drawing inspiration from games like Breath of the Wild and Majora’s Mask, players can pursue the main storyline early or take time to build their strength. Moral complexity also plays a significant role in a reactive world designed to encourage multiple playthroughs and experimentation.

Developed under the direction of Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, best known for his work on The Witcher 3, the game is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated RPGs in development.
