Resident Evil Re: Verse may revive this year

Most Resident Evil fans have probably forgotten about Resident Evil Re:Verse. The game was originally announced as a standalone PvP spin-off that would pit players against monsters in thrilling fights. Not too long after that, Capcom surprised us by turning it into an addon for Resident Evil Village. Not only was the latest installment in the popular survival horror series released without the addon, but Resident Evil Re: Verse was also completely detached from Resident Evil Village once more along the way. The result of all this, is that fans are waiting for a game that should have been available last summer, and all the news from Capcom on this matter have been vague and involved additional delays. Fortunately, this may be changing this year.

Gematsu has reported that the Stadia version of Resident Evil Re:Verse has been rated in Europe. This could mean that we are closer to the release of the game. It's not 100% sure, as the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation versions of the game were rated one year ago and we are still waiting for it, but this news could imply that the game is much closer. Who knows? Maybe we could be playing to it this summer.

As a reminder, Resident Evil Re:Verse is a multiplayer game that features intense 5-minutes matches where up to 6 players fight each other. An interesting twist of the game is that you get transformed into a bioweapon when you die, and can evolve to take revenge on those that killed you.

It's unclear if Resident Evil Re:Verse will continue to be free to all Resident Evil Village owners of if it will launch as a completely independent product. We should know more about it soon, as the release should be happening this year.
