Amazon reveals its expansion plans for New World

After a massive launch last year, New World has left behind its problems with server congestion. Amazon Games is now more concerned about the diminishing number of players that chose its MMORPG to experience an epic adventure. The game's current situation could be caused by the release of new content in other games whose player base was a little bored, but Amazon's lack of experience in the genre may have impacted it as well. 

A game with an end content almost entirely focused on PvP tends to suffer after a while, and visiting the same few expeditions over in the hopes of getting some loot gets boring after a while. Amazon Games plans to expand New World with more high-level content and new features to make it more appealing to the players. The studio has outlined the novelties coming to the game throughout this year in a video. You can watch it below.

We already talked about the Heart of Madness update, which will take the story in New World a bit further with a new questline that will pit players against Isabella in a new expedition set in the city of the Myrkgard. The update will launch later this month, and it will also add a new weapon to the game, the blunderbuss, as well as 3v3 PvP arenas and a PvP reward track. The Heart of Madness update is already available on the test server if you want to give it a try.

Amazon Games has also confirmed that a new endgame expedition will launch this summer, Barnacles & Black Powder. It will be accompanied by a new group finder feature for expeditions and a seasonal event. During the autumn, New World players will be able to explore the new Brimstone Sands territory, a desert area full of new challenges, including a new expedition to test your mettle, The Ennead. The addition of the Greatsword as a new weapon, leaderboards, and several seasonal events will also be very welcomed this fall. 

Amazon Games will attempt to stabilize New World's player base with all those additions. Along with the novelties, you can expect plenty of balance changes, bug fixes, and quality of life changes that will surely bring players back into the game.
