There's room for evil in Hogwarts Legacy

Since Hogwarts Legacy is set in the universe of Harry Potter books, one would assume that you would follow his steps as the protagonist of the game. Fortunately, it seems that the game is much more than the game is far more complex than a new take on the story of an incipient hero. Avalanche Software is letting you explore the Wizarding World as you please and it also gives you the freedom to become whatever you want. That includes becoming a new Voldemort of sorts if you choose to. Hogwarts Legacy lead designer, Kelly Murphy, has revealed in a recent interview with GamesRadar that you can be evil in the game, which includes the possibility of casting unforgivable curses.

“It was important for us to give players who sought out to be a Dark Witch or Wizard an opportunity to do so. This is the ultimate embodiment of role-playing; allowing the player to be evil. Additionally, this was important because it comes from a place of non-judgement by the game creators. If you want to be evil, be evil.”

“Characters will react visually and audibly to seeing the player cast an Unforgivable, but we don’t have a morality system that punishes them for doing so – this would be too judgemental on the game maker’s part. But, should the player continue these actions, the world will reflect back knowledge of them.”

This total freedom to play the game your way without having to worry about a morality system makes Hogwarts Legacy quite appealing. Of course, you will have to deal with the consequences of your acts, but the game itself does not force you to behave in a certain way. 

With those features and many more, Hogwarts Legacy is quite an exciting RPG adventure and it has caught the eye of many fans already.
