Hades II tops the charts in Steam after its Early Access debut

Supergiant Games surprised the fans of Hades just a couple of days ago with the unexpected launch of its sequel on Early Access following a technical test. Since then, Hades II has accumulated countless hours of streaming on all social media platforms and its been praised by thousands of players for its exciting gameplay and new features. The game introduces new gameplay mechanics and lets players charge all of their attacks with magic, empowering them and causing additional effects. This makes it quite different from its predecessor and allows for more tactical gameplay interactions. Of course, you can still play Hades II as a frantic button-smasher, but the new changes add quite a bit more depth to the game, especially when you take into account all the powers granted to you by the gods as you progress since many of them mainly work with charged attacks.

Instant success

Novelties aside, Hades II offers a new experience that is as thrilling as the one from its predecessor, if not more. Its high replayability offers the players countless hours of gameplay, even in its current state, as the game has been designed with Early Access in mind as a very important part of the development process. As a result, a huge community has rushed to buy and play Hades II despite it's not yet released in its final form.

In under 24 hours after Hades II was released, the game had over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, which is close to three times the maximum number of players that its predecessor gathered on the same platform in its lifetime. This is just the beginning, as Supergiant Games has also announced the first big update for Hades II, which will arrive later this year.

"We're planning our first Major Update for later this year! Please note while we'll be monitoring feedback and reports carefully, this Major Update will take some months following our initial launch. Beyond that, we expect to be in Early Access at least through the end of 2024 in order to build out the remaining content we have planned."

Hades II should leave Early Access sometime next year but it already delivers a noteworthy experience in its current version. If you can't wait to immerse in this experience and help Melinoe to defeat Chronos, feel free to use our comparator to purchase a Hades II PC key today.
