Team Cherry has rolled out the first post-launch update for Hollow Knight: Silksong, aiming to smooth out several early-game challenges and fix lingering bugs that players have reported since the game's amazing release. The patch, version 1.0.28470, is currently available as a public beta on Steam and GOG, with a full release expected in the coming week.

Not perfect but close

The 1.0.28470 update addresses a variety of technical issues, improving overall gameplay stability. Several bugs have been fixed, including situations where players could remain cloakless after the Slab escape sequence, incomplete quest objectives in missions like "Infestation Operation" and "Beast in the Bells," and instances where characters could get stuck floating after bouncing on certain projectiles. Other corrections include problems with courier deliveries becoming inaccessible, the "Craft Bind" tool malfunctioning during memories, soft-locks involving the Lace tool in Deep Docks, and some enemies getting stuck out of bounds in the Chapel of the Reaper. Additionally, the patch includes adjustments to the “Snitch Pick” reward system and float override input after obtaining the Faydown Cloak.

Beyond bug fixes, the patch introduces subtle balance tweaks for the early portion of the game. Early-game bosses such as Moorwing and Sister Splinter have been slightly toned down to make their encounters more manageable. The patch also reduces damage from Sandcarvers, slightly increases pea pod collider scale, lowers mid-game Bellway and Bell Bench costs, and enhances rosary rewards from relics, psalm cylinders, and courier deliveries. These changes are retroactive, so players who experienced difficulties before the update can benefit immediately.
