Dead by Daylight is a heart-pounding asymmetrical multiplayer horror game where tension is constant, and survival is never guaranteed. Step into the shoes of one of four survivors, including fan favorites like Meg Thomas, Dwight Fairfield, Claudette Morel, or the legendary Laurie Strode. Your mission? Repair generators, avoid deadly traps, and escape from terrifying, enclosed environments, ranging from shadowy forests and abandoned junkyards to haunted asylums, eerie cornfields, and the cursed streets of Haddonfield, Illinois. Every corner could hide a trap, every shadow could conceal the killer.

Playing as the killer flips the script entirely. Choose from a roster of iconic murderers such as the Trapper, the Wraith, the Hillbilly, the Nurse, or Michael Myers, each with unique powers designed to stalk, ambush, and hunt survivors with chilling precision. Set deadly traps, disappear into the shadows, or unleash supernatural abilities to dominate the game and claim your victims for the Entity. No two killers play alike, making every match a fresh, nerve-wracking challenge.

Dead by Daylight thrives on its deep, strategic gameplay. Survivors must cooperate, plan, and adapt, while killers leverage psychological pressure, tracking, and timing to outsmart their prey. Both sides can unlock perks, items, and offerings using Bloodpoints earned during matches, allowing players to craft personalized playstyles, develop powerful combos, and surprise opponents in inventive ways.

The game's maps are a masterclass in horror design. Each location is packed with interactive elements, hidden pathways, and environmental hazards that can shift the balance of a chase in an instant. Combined with atmospheric lighting, chilling sound design, and suspenseful audio cues, every match immerses players in a cinematic horror experience that captures the tension and terror of classic 80s slasher films.

With continuous updates, crossover content, and new characters added regularly, Dead by Daylight keeps the scares fresh and the gameplay unpredictable. Every match delivers a unique, adrenaline-fueled experience that horror fans and competitive players will love.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

: How does the Killer's Terror Radius affect gameplay, and what are its implications for both Killers and Survivors?
The Terror Radius is a heartbeat sound effect that alerts Survivors to the Killer's presence within a certain range. Survivors within the Terror Radius experience increased heart rate and may trigger specific perks or abilities. Killers use the Terror Radius to pressure Survivors, predict their movements, and gain an advantage by inducing stress.; Explain the purpose and mechanics of Generators, and how Survivors interact with them to progress towards escape.

Survivors must repair Generators through skill checks, avoiding the Killer, and working cooperatively. Each completed Generator brings the team closer to the escape.; Describe the hooking mechanic in detail, including the Survivor's perspective, Killer's actions, and the associated risks and rewards.
When a Killer downs a Survivor, they can hook them on a hook. Once hooked, the Survivor enters the 'dying state'. While hooked, the Survivor can attempt to escape, be rescued by other Survivors, or be sacrificed to the Entity. The Killer gains points and slows down Survivor progress by hooking them.; What is the Entity, and how does it influence the gameplay experience in Dead by Daylight?
The Entity is the malevolent being that controls the Trials. It provides the hooks used to sacrifice Survivors, and it influences the environment and certain game mechanics. The Entity's presence is felt throughout the game as it demands sacrifices from the Killer.; How do Perks function, and how do they impact the gameplay strategies of both Survivors and Killers?

It's a branching path that requires players to make choices about character builds. This customization is key to adapting strategies.; Explain the concept of skill checks, and how they influence actions like Generator repair and healing.
Skill checks are timed button presses or sequences that appear during certain actions. Success results in progress, while failures can result in setbacks, such as explosions on Generators or drawing the Killer's attention. They add an element of risk and reward.; How do pallets function, and what role do they play in the cat-and-mouse chase gameplay?
Pallets are wooden structures that Survivors can drop to stun the Killer, creating distance and providing a tactical advantage. Mastering the use of pallets for both Killers and Survivors is vital for winning chases and managing map control. They create dynamic moments.; What are Add-ons and Offerings, and how do they affect the gameplay experience?
Add-ons and Offerings are items that players equip before a trial to modify their character's abilities or influence the match's conditions. Add-ons enhance perks or items, while Offerings might change the map or grant bonus points.; How does the killer get stronger over the course of a match?
The Killer gets stronger throughout the match by gaining points, unlocking perks, and utilizing their unique powers to down and hook Survivors. As Survivors are hooked, the Killer's advantage grows, creating a downward spiral of control.

I love this game, as long as you don't take the behavior of some survivors/killers to heart, it's all fun!
