A DLC expansion for This War of Mine, The Little Ones explores the war in Pogoren through the eyes of its most vulnerable victims: the children. The Little Ones introduces several new playable characters: six children and three adults. Your selected characters are forced to stay in an abandoned home and somehow survive the civil war, scavenging for supplies and doing whatever it takes to survive. It gets harder over time as criminals roam the streets and the harsh winter sets in. Through it all, you mustn’t just survive--you have to keep your spirit intact.
Children remain as children throughout the game. Each one will have its own stories, each will have a perspective of the war. Even as you tend to the adults, you must try to keep the children's spirits up by talking with them, playing with them, building toys, and assuring them that everything will be alright. As any child, they will react to how you are as a human being amidst a war.
Note that getting The Little Ones DLC is also a donation to the War Child charity.
