The dlc leaves a mixed impression, especially for solo players. Offered at a price close to that of a new game, the content seems surprisingly limited: several key missions, the exotic mission and some iconic weapons are simply inaccessible without a squad. Visually, the expansion does make an effort, but it's not enough to mask poor overall content, repetitive mechanics and a lack of renewal compared to previous expansions. Weapons remain creative and pleasant to use, despite increasingly visible recycling, and the originality of some new enemies is commendable. On the other hand, the new doctrine is sorely lacking in interest and ambition. All in all, an extension that is correct in form, but disappointing in content, and difficult to fully recommend to solo players given its price tag.

What I appreciate about The Final Shape is that it respects the player. It doesn't take anything for granted and takes its time to explain, close and thrill. The campaign has an excellent pace and avoids artificially lengthening the missions. In addition, the subsequent content invites you to keep playing without feeling obligated. It is an expansion that demonstrates maturity in both narrative and design.

The Final Shape is, for me, one of the most complete Destiny 2 expansions. The story engages from the beginning and does not lose strength until the end. The scenarios are visually stunning and convey a constant feeling of being in a key place for the fate of the universe. At the gameplay level, the refinement after years of experience is noticeable, with fluid combat and very attractive customization options.

The missions are well designed and every reward feels earned. It's a closure that leaves a good taste in the mouth and makes all the time invested in the saga worthwhile.

Bungie has managed to close a story of more than a decade with dignity. The Final Shape is emotional, epic and coherent, something difficult to achieve after so many years. The campaign feels special and distinct, with moments that really stick in the memory. In addition, the base game benefits from the tweaks and improvements introduced, making Destiny 2 at one of its best playable moments.

After the disappointment that Lightfall represented for me, with its confused scenario and poorly mastered tone, La Forme Finale immediately reconciled me with Destiny 2. From the very first hours, you can sense a far greater level of ambition and mastery. The script is much more interesting to follow: it's darker, more personal, and finally gives a worthy conclusion to the confrontation with the Witness. The new prismatic doctrine is a total success. The blending of Light and Darkness profoundly renews the gameplay and allows me to create totally new builds. This evolution brings a welcome breath of fresh air to combat. Michael Salvatori's music enhances the overall effect. It perfectly accompanies key moments, reinforces tension and emotion, and lends an epic scale to the adventure. La Forme Finale is a strong, masterful conclusion.

The super that is added to each class is likely to change the gameplay too much for those who have been used to a certain type of gameplay for ten years now, perhaps it would be better to see some gameplay first to evaluate the purchase

I was surprised at how well The Final Shape balances nostalgia with new ideas. There are clear references to the past, but also enough new things to make it feel like more than just a compromise closure. The level design is creative and makes good use of the game's mechanics. In addition, the difficulty is well tuned to be challenging without becoming frustrating, which makes completing the campaign very satisfying.
