Destiny 2: The Final Shape has finally arrived to revolutionize Bungie's shooter. The new Prismatic class, new exotics, the opportunity to explore the depths of the Traveler, and the final clash with the Witness are just the highlights of an expansion that brings an epic conclusion to a saga that has lasted for 10 years already. The expansion is already playable but the first opportunity to delve into the new raid arrives today, when Salvation's Edge opens its doors. Bungie has released a spectacular trailer that provides players with a first look at the raid, which is perfect for those who want to discover what The Witness has prepared for them.

Muster your allies and get ready to fight

Starting today teams from all over the world will be immersed in a frantic race to be the first one to complete the raid. Just a few days after the expansion was released, there is nothing decided in terms of what's the best possible equipment to use to tackle the threats that await you in Salvation's Edge. Therefore, only those capable of adapting their strategies on the fly will have a chance of overcoming all the obstacles and fighting against the most challenging enemies in the expansion. The competition will surely generate great hype among the fans of Destiny 2.

Whether you have been playing Destiny 2 since it was released ten years ago or you have discovered it recently, Destiny 2: The Final Shape is worth taking a look at. The expansion brings plenty of novelties that will definitely change the way you play Destiny 2.
The Final Shape is being sold as a revolution, but it seems to be a marketing pitch that's far removed from the reality of the game. Everything is centered on raiding, competition and the spectacular, while much of the content is inaccessible or uninteresting for solo players, despite the high price tag. The new class and exotics are promoted without any backtracking, while the doctrine lacks impact and the content remains rather thin and repetitive. It's a fine set-up, yes, but the article completely ignores the expansion's real underlying problems.

For me, the Orée du Salut raid is an experience worth trying. It's clearly a difficult raid, with a big peak in difficulty on the second part (the part with the herald of finality). The raid requires constant communication with teammates. Each encounter is based on precise mechanics, and timing and coordination are essential. Without good understanding and clear exchanges, progress quickly becomes impossible. Despite the constant pressure, I enjoyed the general atmosphere, the music and the superb visuals.

Salvation's Edge promises high-level content that will be fun both for the encounters themselves and the collaboration it demands between guardians.
I'm very happy that the news confirms the arrival of Salvation's Edge, as raids are the most intense and satisfying thing Destiny 2 has to offer. This raid not only brings new challenges, but also the chance to see how far your team can go if they coordinate their strategies well. The idea of the global race for the first completed also adds a competitive touch that makes everything more exciting and full of expectations.

For me, the best part of this news is that Salvation's Edge isn't just another filler content: it's a raid designed to test everything learned in The Final Shape. Whether it's for veterans or new players who want a challenge, this raid seems to offer a balance of difficulty and fun that many of us have been waiting for. Plus, seeing Bungie go for quality content after years of experience is very motivating.

Salvation’s Edge is a raid that I found impressive on paper, but uneven in its realization. On one hand, the artistic direction is bold and consistent with the confrontation against the Witness, offering a unique and disturbing atmosphere. Some mechanics are intelligent and rewarding once mastered, and the build-up to the final boss is rather successful. On the other hand, the constant complexity eventually becomes burdensome. The raid requires a very high level of coordination at every moment, which can hinder the pace and pleasure, especially for groups not used to playing together. The difficulty is justified narratively, but sometimes poorly balanced. So I appreciated the ambition and some highlights, while regretting a lack of flexibility and more breathable moments

Salvation’s Edge is, in my opinion, one of the most frustrating raids in Destiny 2. Despite an obvious ambition, the raid suffers from excessively rigid mechanics that leave very little room for error or adaptation. The majority of encounters rely more on the perfect execution of precise patterns than on the pleasure of combat or gunplay. Visually, the style of the Pale Heart of the Traveler can impress at first, but it quickly becomes monotonous and sometimes even confused, making it difficult to read the action. The difficulty, on the other hand, seems more punitive than stimulating: a simple misstep can ruin an entire attempt. For a raid supposed to conclude a saga, I found the experience more exhausting than truly epic. In the end, it is a content that prioritizes mechanical performance over fun, which makes it unpleasant
