Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2, 2025, marking a major milestone for the Assassin’s Creed franchise and for Nintendo's new hardware. The announcement, accompanied by the game's first Switch 2 trailer, showcases the vibrant open world of feudal Japan, where players can alternate between the stealthy Naoe and the warrior Yasuke.

The confirmation ends months of speculation following leaks from retailers and insiders. According to Ubisoft, the Switch 2 version will deliver the "complete Assassin's Creed Shadows experience," optimized for portable and docked play alike.

The update also adds a new mode called "Corrupted Castles," where previously conquered strongholds become re-corrupted by Animus anomalies, offering fresh combat scenarios and rare loot.
Title Update 11 (November 25, 2025) will bring a free story chapter titled "A Puzzlement." This update embraces a lighter, more humorous tone and expands both protagonists' abilities. Naoe learns Yasuke's powerful war kick, while Yasuke gains access to stealth-based non-lethal takedowns. Environmental puzzles and new side activities will also play a larger role.
