Assassin’s Creed Shadows update 1.06 adds Nightmare Mode

Ubisoft has rolled out update 1.06 for Assassin's Creed Shadows, a significant patch that brings with it a brand-new difficulty level and a fresh story-driven mission. The update continues the publisher's commitment to deepening the post-launch content and gameplay variety for fans of the feudal Japan-set title.

Harder than ever

At the forefront of this update is the introduction of Nightmare Mode, the most challenging gameplay option added to the title so far. Designed for seasoned players seeking a brutal test of skill and strategy, Nightmare Mode pushes combat to new extremes. Enemies are more aggressive, parry windows are unforgivingly tight, and healing options are far more limited. Even stealth encounters demand heightened precision, with louder footfalls and narrower detection margins.
