Ubisoft revealed its post-launch plan for Assassin's Creed Shadows

Ubisoft has unveiled the Year 1 roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, detailing a comprehensive lineup of post-launch content, including free story updates, gameplay enhancements, and a major expansion released on April 30th.

In early May, a free story quest, The Works of Luis Frois, is introducing a new narrative thread alongside a Codec Update with enhancements to the in-game codex for better lore immersion. Lastly, there will be quality-of-life improvements, including various tweaks to enhance the gameplay experience.​ In late May, there will be new enhancements to the parkour system. As the name suggests, these will focus on the introduction of new moves, like height-gaining side ejects and vertical ledge jumps. A Photo Mode Update will be added as an expanded feature to capture in-game moments. And finally, a special collaboration for a crossover event is unique content.​

In June, a New Game+ Mode will allow players to replay the game with retained progress and added challenges.Also there will be updates based on player suggestions and feedback. Finally, in late 2025, a major DLC called Claws of Awaji will offer over 10 hours of new content, introducing the island of Awaji, new enemies, and the Bō staff weapon for Naoe. This expansion is free for those who pre-ordered the game and will be available as a separate purchase later this year.

Claws of Awaji is the first, and currently only, DLC planned for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows.

The DLC will see Naoe and Yasuke journey to the unique island of Awaji, a land steeped in enigmatic beauty. The island, which is located west of Osaka, will see the pair try to escape after becoming trapped. Players will need to recover a forgotten treasure while evading the traps and ambushes set by lethal new enemies.

Ubisoft has opted out of the traditional season pass model, focusing instead on standalone expansions and free updates.
