Dragon's Dogma 2 unveils new vocation in Sony's State of Play

Sony's State of Play unveiled new and thrilling information about the highly anticipated Dragon's Dogma II before its release on March 22, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The gameplay trailer introduced the new Warfarer vocation, which can be exclusively used by the Arisen and has access to all weapons. The video also highlights a mysterious threat plaguing the loyal Pawn companions of the Arisen, the vocation maisters who grant the protagonist access to high-level skills, and further showcases the new gameplay against the unprecedented enemies players will face.

The Warfarer vocation is a jack-of-all-trades. It can wield all weapons and use different skills from other Vocations, but its base attributes are lower than usual. Using various weapons, the Warfarer can respond to any situation and create combos that transcend vocational boundaries. The Warfarer's lower basic stats require them to leverage the situational strengths of different weapon types to stand on par with other vocations with specialized strengths.

Warfarer is the second new vocation introduced in Dragon's Dogma II. In a previous gameplay trailer, the Trickster vocation was revealed, which wields the Censer, conjuring illusions to confuse enemies or bestow buffs on allies. It's the first entirely supportive vocation in the game.

Dragonsplague is a contagious condition akin to a disease that infects Pawns while traveling between worlds. Instead of being weakened, Pawns with the disease are said to exhibit remarkable performances and become noticeably bold in their speech and behavior. According to legend, when the symptoms of the dragon's plague reach a terminal stage, it will result in devastating calamity, but the truth of these claims is uncertain.

And the latest update is about Vocational Mastery. In your travels, the player will encounter vocation maisters who have mastered their chosen vocation to the fullest. Deepening your relationship with a vocation maister and gaining their approval, you can gain access to their vocation, or they may grant you unique tomes that teach high-level skills, the "maister's teachings."
