Ray-Tracing, New Game+, and more, now in Dying Light: The Beast
As previously announced in the official roadmap for the game, Dying Light: The Beast has received its largest update to date, bringing a host of highly anticipated features and improvements. Update 1.4, released on November 27, 2025, introduces New Game+, the Legend Levels progression system, ray-tracing support, and numerous quality-of-life enhancements that significantly expand both the gameplay and visual experience.
Replay the adventure with New Game+
One of the standout additions is New Game+, allowing players to replay the full story of Kyle while retaining all previously earned weapons, gear, and character progression. Enemies scale in difficulty with each run, creating a greater challenge while offering richer rewards. This system encourages multiple playthroughs, giving veteran players a reason to dive back into the game world without losing any of their hard-earned progress.
Update 1.4 also introduces Legend Levels, an advanced progression system for players who reach level 15. Any additional experience points are converted into Legend XP, which can be spent to unlock passive upgrades that enhance health, combat efficiency, and Beast Mode abilities. The system also rewards players with new content, including 22 weapons, two full outfits, and legendary skins for vehicles, effectively extending the end-game experience and offering meaningful progression for those committed to mastering the game.
For PC players, the update adds ray-tracing, improving lighting, shadows, and reflections to enhance the atmosphere of Castor Woods. Alongside this visual boost, over 70 graphical issues have been resolved, including texture misalignments, clipping, and other visual glitches, making the game smoother and more immersive.
Beyond new content and graphics, Update 1.4 delivers hundreds of fixes and improvements. Parkour and vehicle handling have been refined, co-op stability enhanced, and multiple UI, audio, and performance issues addressed. The update ensures a smoother and more polished experience for both solo and cooperative play, reflecting the developers’ commitment to community feedback.
Limited-Time Event and Rewards
To celebrate the update, the developers have launched a “Call of the Beast” event week. Players can enjoy double XP and participate in community challenges, such as executing a set number of finishers, to earn exclusive rewards including new vehicle skins and in-game items. This limited-time event encourages both new and returning players to explore the update’s new features while earning valuable rewards.
Update 1.4 significantly enhances Dying Light: The Beast by expanding replayability, offering deeper end-game progression, upgrading visuals with ray-tracing, and improving overall stability and gameplay. With these additions, the game provides players with compelling reasons to explore the treacherous world of Castor Woods once again if they already visited it in the past.
