“Call of the Beast” Global Event Kicks Off in Dying Light: The Beast
Techland has detailed the post-launch roadmap for Dying Light: The Beast, outlining 11 weeks of new content, gameplay updates, and community-driven events. The developer also launched the first major global event, "Call of the Beast," which invites players worldwide to take part in weekly cooperative challenges.
Post-launch support and new features
The roadmap, which spans from October 16, 2025, to January 7, 2026, includes a mix of gameplay enhancements and feature additions aimed at expanding the experience beyond the game’s initial release. Techland confirmed that New Game+, Legend Levels, and Nightmare Difficulty will be added in the coming weeks, giving players new ways to replay and progress through the game.
Additional updates will focus on technical and visual improvements, such as ray tracing support on PC, new weapon execution animations, and several quality-of-life changes. The roadmap also teases upcoming collaborations, including a crossover event with PUBG Mobile. Techland stated that these updates are part of its ongoing plan to keep Dying Light: The Beast evolving through regular content drops, a strategy that echoes the long-term post-launch support seen with Dying Light 2.
"Call of the Beast" event kicks off
The highlight of the roadmap is Call of the Beast, a global community event running parallel to the update schedule. Over the course of 11 weeks, players will be tasked with completing 22 total challenges, each released every Thursday via the Dying Light Outpost hub.
Each completed objective grants themed rewards, including weapons, skins, and cosmetics. Players who participate in at least 17 of the challenges will earn a special Legendary reward when the event concludes. If the global community collectively completes 20 of the 22 challenges, all participants will receive every reward from the event, regardless of when they joined.
Techland described Call of the Beast as an effort to "bring players together through shared goals and milestones," reinforcing the studio's emphasis on cooperative play and community engagement.
Initial reaction from the Dying Light community has been positive, with players welcoming the addition of long-term support and progression systems. On social media and community forums, many expressed appreciation for the return of familiar features like Legend Levels and the introduction of new gameplay modifiers. Some players have also praised the event's structure, noting that it encourages consistent participation without locking rewards behind excessive grind.
Techland’s latest update reaffirms its focus on extended support for Dying Light: The Beast. The studio has a proven track record of maintaining active development cycles for its titles, and the combination of regular updates and large-scale community events suggests that Dying Light: The Beast will follow a similar path. With the first Call of the Beast challenge now live, the coming weeks will determine how effectively the roadmap sustains player engagement. If successful, Techland's post-launch strategy could help Dying Light: The Beast maintain a strong and active player base well into 2026.
