CD Projekt Red has to explain microtransactions in Cyberpunk 2077
The announcement of microtransactions in Cyberpunk 2077 has shaken the foundations of the community that is eagerly waiting for CD Projekt Red's upcoming adventure to be released. It had led to lots of speculation and negative comments that have forced CD Projekt Red to make things clear after boss Adam Kicinski talked about microtransactions in a way that seemed to imply that they were going to be present in Cyberpunk 2077.
"Well, we are never aggressive towards our fans. We treat them fair and we're friendly. So of course not, we won't be aggressive. But you can expect great things to be bought. The goal is to design the monetisation in a way that makes people happy spending money. And no, I'm not cynical. I'm not trying to hide something. It's about giving the feeling of value, always. Same as with our base game, our single-player games. We want gamers to be happy while spending money on our products. Same with microtransactions. So you can expect them, of course, and Cyberpunk 2077 is a great setting to sell things, but it won't be aggressive. So it won't upset gamers, but it will make them happy. That's our goal at least."
After he said that, everyone thought that Cyberpunk 2077 would include microtransactions in the single-player version of the game, but it was clarified in the official twitter account of the game in which CD Projekt Red clearly states that Cyberpunk 2077 is a single-player game with no microtransactions at all.
Cyberpunk multiplayer/online, which is a separate project, will have some microtransactions, but we said that a year ago already. Like always, expect us treating your money with respect.

As you know, the multiplayer version of Cyberpunk 2077 is a project still in development that will arrive much later than the single-player game is released, and not too many details have been revealed about it. It seems that its monetization will follow a different model and it wouldn't really be that strange if, as the developers have announced, it offers you the possibility of purchasing things like cosmetic items to customize the looks of your character.
