Techland reveals two skills trees for Dying Light 2

This February is packed with game releases but Dying Light 2: Stay Human manages to stand out by engaging fans with news about its UI and HUD details, its plethora of gear, and more. 

Its most recent reveal is about the new skills tree, shown here:
 

Dying made easy

The original Dying Light had five skill trees to choose from, but the sequel simplifies it down to two: Combat and Parkour. There are in total of 24 in each tree, though the video describes only six in-depth: Block Charge, Perfect Parry, and Ground Pound for Combat, and Far Jump, Bash, and Tic Tac for Parkour.

The six skills are all fairly straightforward, too. Block Charge lets players block then charge at enemies to knock them down. This comes in handy when said enemy is right next to a ledge you can push them over.

On the other hand, Perfect Parry helps with defense by letting players “parry at the last moment to stagger an enemy,” giving you the chance to escape or land a deciding blow. 

Finally, Ground Pound has less to do with an MMA technique and more with a jumping attack. After a jump, your character hits the ground with a shockwave that staggers nearby foes.

Parkour also has attractive options that will mesh well with combat. The Tic Tac ability lets you perform a wall run, which you could potentially combo with a Ground Pound at the end. Same with Far Jump, which lets you use objects as a platform to extend your leaps. Finally, Bash lets you bulldoze your way through obstacles and enemies without losing speed. All of these make for a versatile and dynamic approach to parkour, and will help keep you alive in a zombie-infested world.
