Dragon Age 4 on track despite losing executive producer
After a long silence since announcing Dragon Age 4 at the 2018 The Game Awards, Bioware has announced that the game is in good shape. Jeff Grubb says that Dragon Age 4 is on track to meet its launch window, projected to be in late 2023.
Jeff Grubb said on the latest episode of GrubbSnax, Dragon Age 4 is in very good shape, they're hitting their milestones. The game is on schedule, which is about 18 months out from today. He expects it to release maybe late 2023 at the earliest.

Additionally, Bioware general manager Gary McKay writes in their blog:
“For the next Dragon Age, we are right in the middle of Production, which is a great feeling. Our blueprint was completed last year, so we’re now focused on building out our vision: creating amazing environments, deep characters, strong gameplay, impactful writing, emotional cinematics – and much more. The blueprint for the game is well understood and the team is focused.”
Fans did have a cause for concern. It’s been four years since the announcement of Dragon Age 4 and nine years since Dragon Age: Inquisition. With the exception of expansions to the previous games, concept art, and stories, not much has come in the way of new content.
It doesn’t help that Bioware has been seeing some major departures from the team, with executive producer Christian Dailey leaving the project. Dailey had previously replaced Mark Darrah, who left in 2020. Prior to that, general manager Casey Hudson and senior creative director Matt Goldman also left the project.
Regardless, McKay did announce that he will be closely working with the Dragon Age 4 team. He also announced that Mass Effect writer-director Mac Walters will take on the role of production director, Dragon Age design director Corrine Busche has been assigned as game director, and long-time Dragon Age developer Benoit Houle is the product development director.
Assuming things are going well, Dragon Age 4 will release sometime in late 2023 for PC and next-gen consoles only. Keep an eye on our comparator for bargain Dragon Age 4 PC codes. We’ll keep you posted as more news comes.
