Dragon Age: The Veilguard has the right difficulty for you
BioWare is determined to return from the darkness with a bang with the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. What happened with Anthem left the fans of the studio concerned, but the next installment in the iconic RPG series Dragon Age comes as a huge opportunity for the creator of Baldur's Gate and Mass Effect to demonstrate that it's still among the best developers. With Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the studio will revolutionize the series by changing the way you play a game that won't be an open-world experience. Instead, BioWare has focused on narrative, decision making, and significantly different combat mechanics to offer an experience where the protagonist and their story shine above all. This doesn't mean that your companions won't have their rightful spot, as they will continue to be a critical part of the game in terms of story and gameplay, but Dragon Age: The Veilguard will have you at the centre more than any other game in the series.
Choosing the right difficulty
During the past few weeks, the developer studio has delved into many aspects of Dragon Age: The Veilguard to introduce players to the experience. In its latest journal entry, BioWare has detailed the different difficulty levels that the game will feature. No matter what type of experience you are looking for, the game will have the appropriate difficulty level for you. It features a total of five options:
- Storyteller
- Here for the story.
- Keeper
- A balanced combat experience that emphasizes party composition and equipment choices over reaction times.
- Adventurer
- A balanced experience that places equal emphasis on combat, party composition, and equipment choices.
- Underdog
- Here to be pushed to the limit, requiring strategic planning and tactical decisions.
- Nightmare
- Overwhelming battles that give no quarter. Requires a mastery of combat, equipment, skills, and game mechanics to survive.
- Selecting Nightmare cannot be undone without starting a new playthrough.
- Unbound
- Customize all settings.
- Settings impact numerous aspects of gameplay. If this is your first time, consider a curated preset instead.
By allowing players to customize their experience as they please, BioWare guarantees that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be accessible to all types of players, whether they look for a hardcore experience or a more relaxed one.
With only three weeks left until the game is playable on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, all that is left is to use our comparator to get the best deal for Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
