Ghost of Yōtei will receive New Game+ Update on November 24

After a very successful launch, fans of the action-adventure game Ghost of Yōtei have another reason to celebrate: a major free update is coming on November 24, 2025, introducing a fully-featured New Game+ mode, alongside new cosmetics, upgraded gear, and additional post-game content. The announcement was made on the official PlayStation blog, highlighting the developers’ commitment to expanding the game’s longevity and replay value.

A reason to keep playing the game

The headline feature of the update is the New Game+ mode, allowing players who have completed the main story to restart their journey as protagonist Atsu while retaining all previously unlocked weapons, armor, abilities, and upgrades. This new mode also introduces tougher difficulty settings, offering a challenging experience for veterans eager to test their skills in a second run through the island of Ezo.

In addition to New Game+, the update adds a host of new content to enrich gameplay. Players will gain access to a new in-game currency called Ghost Flowers, which can be exchanged for over 30 new cosmetic items, including armor sets, weapon dyes, and ten additional charms. Furthermore, existing weapons and armor sets will receive an extra tier of upgrades, allowing players to further enhance their equipment and better prepare for the heightened challenges of New Game+.

Post-game content has been expanded as well, with more missions and encounters now replayable. A new stats display has been added, giving players deeper insight into their performance and progression across multiple playthroughs. Accessibility and usability have also been improved, with features such as directional button remapping and updated Photo Mode tools. Photographers can now take advantage of shutter speed control, a composition grid, and new visual filters to capture the game’s stunning environments.
