Baby wyverns are the weirdly cool star of Crimson Desert’s new patch

Crimson Desert’s latest patch adds baby wyverns, ponds, and more
Updates & Patches

Crimson Desert got its latest patch on May 22, 2026, with Version 1.08.00 now live across almost all platforms. The Mac App Store version is still coming later, but for most players, the update is already there and it is not just a tiny clean-up patch.

The big headline this time is weird in the best way: ponds and Baby Wyverns. Players can now build ponds at Howling Hill and Pailune Camp, drop fish into them, manage the pond, and even keep legendary fish there permanently. It gives the game a calmer side, which is not exactly what most people expect when they think of Crimson Desert, but that is also why it stands out. Then there are the Baby Wyverns, which can now be kept as pets. Pearl Abyss also says these little creatures will be able to grow and become mounts in a future update, so this feels like the first step toward a much bigger system.

Wyvern riding makes exploration way more interesting

There are some proper gameplay changes here too. Wild Wyverns can now be temporarily used as mounts after you subdue them, which should make exploration feel a lot more exciting. Kliff also got more weapon options, with muskets and shotguns now available, while Damiane and Oongka received a skill similar to Focused Aerial Roll. So yes, there is cute pet content, but the patch still brings plenty for players who just want more action and movement.

Other notable additions include:

  • A new tool equipment slot for axes, shovels, pickaxes, fans, drills, chainsaws, and more
  • A new option to silence tied-up outlaws
  • New blueprints for crafting superior branches
  • Instant equipment refinement with the selected method
  • New painting-related missions
  • Better rewards from logging and quarry missions
  • Re-blockade events at bandit camps and ruins
  • Fish traps now actually catching fish properly
  • Infinite Arrows Abyss gear now also working with bullets and cannonballs

There are also loads of fixes for missions, pets, mounts, UI problems, crafting, shops, graphics, and performance. PC players also get Raytraced Sun and Moon Light Shadows, which should make the world look better, especially in wide open areas.

Overall, this is a pretty packed patch. It mixes cozy side content, creature collecting, mount changes, combat updates, and technical fixes without feeling like filler.
