New Crimson Desert patch adds more pets, chainsaws, and useful fixes

Crimson Desert Patch 1.11.00 lets players collect up to 100 pets
Updates & Patches

Crimson Desert already had plenty of things to keep players busy, but Patch 1.11.00 adds one change that is going to hit a very specific part of the community hard: the pet collectors. The new update increases the number of pets you can register all the way up to 100, which is exactly the kind of ridiculous feature that makes sense in a game this packed with side activities. You do not just get the new cap for free, though. Pearl Abyss has added new challenges that unlock the higher pet registration limit, so players who want to build their little army of animals will need to actually earn that extra space.

Your camp can now become a full fantasy zoo

There is one important detail here: while you can now register up to 100 pets, you can still only have 50 pets summoned at camp at the same time. Honestly, that still sounds like pure chaos. The patch also makes pets a bit cleaner to manage, since pets now keep their names when they grow. There is also a new map icon for baby wyverns, which should make tracking them much less annoying. It is not the biggest mechanical change in the world, but for players who love collecting creatures, naming them, and treating the camp like a weird fantasy zoo, this is a very nice update.

Patch 1.11.00 also adds some other useful fixes and quality-of-life changes. Damiane and Oongka can now equip the Mining Drill and Chainsaw, which means more characters get access to some of the game’s funniest tools. Lost rare equipment is also easier to recover, as shopkeepers can now collect certain lost rare items and resell them within seven days, although at a higher price. On top of that, the pinball minigame has been made easier, mount behavior has been improved, wyvern issues have been cleaned up, and controller button mapping has been expanded for menus like Inventory, Map, Skills, Journal, and Photo Mode.

This is the type of patch that shows why Crimson Desert deserves the strong sales numbers it has reached so far. The game is huge, messy in the best way, and full of systems that keep giving players stories to tell. With rumors already floating around about possible DLC coming in the future, it feels like Pearl Abyss still has a lot more planned for this world.
