Update 1.16.00 turns Crimson Desert into a trader’s playground
Crimson Desert’s massive update 1.16.00 has arrived, and it gives players a whole new reason to explore every corner of Pywel. While combat, quests and technical performance have all received improvements, the real star of the patch is a major trading overhaul that transforms buying and selling goods into a proper open-world activity.
The update adds an impressive 133 new trading posts across the map, greatly expanding the number of places where players can purchase, transport and sell valuable cargo. Instead of simply unloading goods at the nearest merchant, traders now need to study the market, plan their journeys and decide whether a dangerous route is worth the potential reward.
Supply and demand changes everything
Crimson Desert now features a supply-and-demand economy, meaning prices can fall when players sell large quantities of the same product in one location. Flooding a market is no longer the smartest strategy, so successful merchants will need to spread their deliveries across different regions and search for settlements offering better prices.
Hard-to-reach trading posts can provide larger profits, while royal trading posts now pay four times their previous prices. General trading income has also been increased, making cargo runs much more worthwhile. Wagons no longer disappear after completing deliveries at royal posts either, allowing players to continue their journey without losing their trusty transport.
The patch introduces 24 high-value trade goods, four regular goods and several useful inventory improvements. Players can transfer cargo between horses and wagons, sell individual items and carry larger stacks of packaged and unpackaged products. Seven wagon workshops have also been added across the world, making it easier to prepare for longer trading expeditions.
A new Trade tab on the world map ties everything together. Players can filter trading posts, goods, workshops and routes while checking market prices, average purchase costs and current cargo quantities. It makes the entire system easier to understand while still rewarding careful planning.
Update 1.16.00 also expands banking, restores hundreds of missing knowledge entries and fixes numerous combat, quest and performance issues. Pearl Abyss quickly followed the major patch with three hotfixes addressing problems involving wagon storage menus, loading screens, graphical errors, crashes and disappearing shields.
With its new economy, expanded trade network and more meaningful transport mechanics, Crimson Desert’s latest update makes earning money feel like an adventure of its own.
